    Ilford South candidates announced

There will be six candidates.

Only three are local residents of this constituency. They are myself and two minor party candidates.

I am a local man with a national voice  http://www.mikegapes.org.uk/about-me . I live in Ilford.

The Green candidate is also standing for the Council in Chadwell Heath.

The UKIP candidate lives in Chadwell Heath.

The Conservative candidate  lives in Haringey North London.

Ilford South has always been a battle between Conservative and Labour. The Liberals have never done better than a poor third.

The Ilford Liberals are clearly in some disarray. Their head office has imposed two candidates from South London  to fight the two Ilford constituencies. They only selected my opponent four weeks ago. She is a Liberal Democrat Councillor in Southwark who admits she is  standing in Ilford to get "experience" and is giving priority to re-contesting her South London council seat which is also up for election on 6 May.(Southwark News 16 April)

There is also an independent who lives in the Leyton and Wanstead constituency.
